old at 24

Another year has come and gone. This has been quite the topic of discussion lately. I have mentioned to more than a handful of my patients how I can't believe its almost Christmas or I can't believe 2013 has finally come to an end. Almost every single one has responded the same way. The older you get the faster it goes. That is no joke. Today, I put on a sweatshirt from when I played soccer in high school from 2003. Really???? That means I was a freshmen in high school 10 years ago. Ho.ly.crap. Someone tell me why I am starting to feel old at 24.

I think this was my sophomore year in high school

2013 has been a whirlwind of a year. It was filled with adventures to other countries, finding some amazing friends and realizing how many great friends we have, and dealing with our fair share of trials.
I was lucky enough to go back to Peru and have yet another amazing experience in that beautiful country. It is still one of my favorite places I have ever been too.

We traveled to our Nation's capitol for the first time for our 4th anniversary. We were able to see the cherry blossom tree's and many of the other cool things in DC.

For our summer vacation, we had the chance to go to Costa Rica. We hiked through some national parks and saw some amazing wildlife. We saw surf competitions, rappelled and zip lined through the rain forest, and saw some beautiful sunsets.

In September we headed over to London for 5 or 6 days and explored Europe for the first time. We walked endless miles but fell in love with the UK. We saw Big Ben, a car show with million dollar cars, a world cup qualifier game at Wembley stadium and many other amazing things.

After London, we took a 6 hour bus ride to Paris where I tried macaroons for the first time [and am now obsessed], saw the Eiffel tower, ate many crepes and walked a million more miles. The architecture in Europe is absolutely breath taking.

While we didn't accomplish everything we had hoped to in 2013...overall, it was a pretty great year. It most definitely had it's hard times but those trials opened our eyes to how much the Lord has blessed us. We have been able to travel the world, make some incredibly amazing friends, and have learned more about ourselves than I could ever know. So here's to hoping 2014 will be filled with more adventures .
