venting

i know i shouldnt be complaining about things or our current situation --because we have truly been blessed in so many ways since we have moved back.... but im going to vent anyway because I need too & i dont really have anyone to vent too here.
this wasnt really how i pictured it when we made the decision to move back... I went ahead and assumed that adam would have a job & money wouldnt be a huge issue for us while we were living with my parents & i figured that i would have a good handle on classes and have the motivation to study & that i would actually want to get good grades. i mean i knew we wouldnt have a lot of friends when we moved back but i didnt think people would be so unfriendly... i have been in school for a bout a month and have met 2 people.. & granted i could introduce myself to people but to tell you the truth everyone i have sat by in class hasnt looked all that inviting. . I also went ahead and assumed that i would really enjoy being in school & honestly i feel like im re living highschool minus the social events & all the friends. i dont want to say its miserable but its not quite that. I absolutely hate not knowing where we are going to end up... i have yet to find out about nursing school & im at the point where i expect to get rejected. & i know thats bad but what do you expect when someone gets rejected from pursuing her dream more than a few times... i feel like i wont ever be good enough for any nursing school. i hate that adam doesnt have any close guy friends to hang out with it makes me feel bad when i go hang out with anyone... this is really hard for me because i have always had a lot of friends pretty much my whole life & now we dont really hang out with anyone. I really want to move back to rexburg --i never thought id say that. we had it so good there.. we had amazing friends, an awesome ward, i had a freaking awesome job, & now all of that is gone... living back at home isnt bad but i just want our own space i miss having our own apt. but we cant afford it... at all. like i said before i shouldnt complain but i did anyways and thats the last depressing post ill make because i hate feeling like this.

  1. Amanda, patience. It's only been a couple of months since you moved to GA. If this is where you and Adam felt like you needed to be then focus on that and the rest will come in to place. These are just a few of the many challenges that y'all will face in your lifetime together and to be honest, after much experience, it's miniscule! You ARE fortunate to be with your parents when money IS an issue! As far as friends go, you gotta get your foot in the door. You are a young married couple and people have to catch up with you, one of the downfalls to getting married so young. Been there, done that. Jon understands not having friends since he moved here for me from Utah. It's taken him MANY years to feel like he has some fun guy friends that he feels he can be himself and have fun around. As far as school, yeah, welcome back to highschool. It will always be like this because BYU-I has a completely different atmosphere being a church school. Sorry you feel this way, I do understand, and it will get better. Y'all are young and just getting started, it's suppose to be hard. Fortunately, you two have supportive parents who are willing to sacrifice and help. :) I know this is long but I wanted to give you some light in the face of dispair. Good luck and I'm up for a good venting anytime!
